Was there any resolution to this?
We're having the same problem.

This is mostly to document the resolution to the above problems. We're installing webmo on another SUSE linux computer, so we're retracing our steps.

1> In
/etc/apache2/httpd.conf, the mod_userdir.conf is not included.
Add the line
Include /etc/apache2/mod_userdir.conf
in the optional mod's

* Modify mod_userdir.conf as follows:
Un-comment the lines that read UserDir enabled
I set this to read
UserDir enabled webmo so that only webmo has a userdir

*Add the line:
AddHandler cgi-script .cgi

*Add the section:
<directory>
Options ExecCGI
SetHandler cgi-script
</directory>

*stop/stop apache2 and everything should work.

I'm trying to install WebMO. I downloaded the licence but now i need to install it using an OS X operative system.
How can I upload the installation file in the web browser server? I know it seems a stupid question but I'm new in this kind of things.

Than you

You need to transfer the file with SSH or SFTP and login on the command line to install WebMO.

What is the reference to "*stop/stop" exactly? Is Bittner suggesting this line be added to mod_userdir.conf file?

The start / stop refers to restarting Apache. You can either 1) just restart the server or 2) use "/etc/rc.d/init.d/httpd restart" or 3) "/sbin/services httpd restart"
