So I just finished installing webmo with no errors yet I cannot seem to get webmo to start. I am running Fedora core 10 and apache seems to work fine. Installed webmo under the new user account webmo whose home dir points to /usr/webmo. When I try to login as admin for the first time though I get this error message.

Your Apache server is not configured correctly for serving data out of user home directories. Please see:
https://www.webmo.net/support/fedoracore4.html#apache_conf
for more information on how to configuration Apache for use with WebMO.

Please post a new copy of your configuration file, as well as a copy of your WebMO diagnostic information. Please see:

https://www.webmo.net/support/troubleshoot.html

for how to generate that information. You may email support@webmo.net with these files.

The URL corresponding to you installation should be:
url_cgiBase="/~webmo/cgi-bin/webmo"
url_htmlBase="/~webmo/webmo"

NOT

url_cgiBase="/~webmo/public_html/cgi-bin/webmo"
url_htmlBase="/~webmo/public_html/webmo"

Either hand edit your webmo configuration file to that effect, or just reinstalling using those URLs.

OK so I reinstalled Webmo using the url's you suggested instead but it's still having the same problems.

Here is the relevant output from the setup script.

Here are the configuration options that you have chosen
License number: xxxx-xxxx-xxxx
Path to perl: /usr/bin/perl
Webserver name: xxx.xxx.xxx
HTML directory: /usr/webmo/public_html/webmo
HTML URL: /~webmo/webmo
CGI script directory: /usr/webmo/public_html/cgi-bin/webmo
CGI script URL: /~webmo/cgi-bin/webmo
User files directory: /usr/webmo/webmo

When you login, make sure you are going to login.cgi and not login.html.

This is the link i've been using. http://webserver>/~webmo/cgi-bin/webmo/login.cgi

this is the link that is given to me at the end of the setup script.

I don't know why but now after restarting apache I am getting this error message.

OK I've figured it out, it has to do with this https://www.webmo.net/support/suexec.html.
