Editor (webmo 3.2) does not work on IE 5.1 or Netscape 6 under OSX. The error appears to be in the java script when you open a builder window. I tried the work around posted, but that did not work There doesn't seem to be a problem when using IE 5 under Windoze 98. |

WebMO requires that Javascript and Java applets be able to communicate with one another, a technology known as "LiveConnect". This permits molecule structure information created in the Editor to be passed back to the webpage, and then back to the WebMO server. Netscape 4.X on Windows and unix, and Internet Explorer 4.X+ on Windows, and HotJava 3.X on the Macintosh all support LiveConnect. Support for LiveConnect has been promised in future for other browsers: Though promised, LiveConnect support has not been implemented on these browsers as of this time. Specifically, web browser support for the Macintosh is currently very weak (OS9 and OSX), but will hopefully improve in the future. |
