https://www.webmo.net/support/nwchem4.html appears to be outdated; NWChem has been in 6.6 for a year. For example, my Ubuntu system doesn't have a 'pwd' directory and I get an error at that point in the setup. I am reluctant to just strike out on my own as I have a working system right now and don't want to break it right before the semester starts.

On the other hand, I am finding the NWChem instructions from http://www.nwchem-sw.org/index.php/Compiling_NWChem to be more than a little opaque.

Is there more guidance? Should I just not bother trying to install NWChem?

I am running WebMO with MOPAC and GAMESS on a single machine, 8-core i7 running Ubuntu. Everything works so far.
